Leydy Garcia, M.Sc., P.Eng.

Leydy is off on a new adventure, but we can't bring ourselves to take her page down just yet. We wish her the best but still consider her an Enlighteneer!

Leydy is a professional engineer specializing in Petroleum Geomechanics. She holds a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Simon Bolivar University, an M.Sc. in Drilling and Well Engineering from Robert Gordon University and recently completed courses in Reservoir Characterization at the University of Calgary.

She started her career with PDVSA in Venezuela in 2006. Her interest in geomechanics grew through a fascination with subsurface forces, how they change with drilling activities and how the magnitude of the Earth stresses or the complexity of the geological setting contribute to the stability of a well, Through intense training at PDVSA, Leydy developed into a Geomechanics Specialist. She brought that expertise to Canada in 2014, when she began working with Amy and Neil at Canadian Discovery. Now she contributes to Enlighten's geomechanics studies.

Leydy "riding" her bike in the Absa Cape Epic in Table Mountain View, Cape Town, South Africa.
